It was a very early morning, August 13th, when we left Arkansas. Jackson wakes up at 5:30 to eat, so we decided to leave once he was done with his breakfast. It was perfect that we dd, because instead of stopping in Lincoln, we went all the way to South Dakota. It was a 16 hour driving day, but it was well worth it.
We really need to update our GPS. This happens quite frequently, where we are driving on roads that don't exist!
When Jackson woke up and realized we were not in Arkansas anymore...he was not very happy.
No worries, when I gave him his binky and told him we were going to South Dakota, he calmed down!
This is him doing tummy time at one of our stops.
This is what he did for the majority of the trip. HE SLEPT!
PERFECT!
I sat in the back seat with him. Look at all of our stuff in the back. Oh man! We were packed FULL! We would stop every three hours for me to feed him in the backseat of the car. Then he would go right back to sleep. It was amazing!
We of course saw a ton of farms on our drive.
Oh my goodness. Look at this kid.
He is thinking, I like this whole Road Trip thing.
It is fun to see new places!
There were times that the only way he would fall back to sleep was by holding my finger.
I did NOT complain!
A beautiful stop in Wyoming, right before going into South Dakota.
We got into Wall, South Dakota at about 10:30 at night.
We were ready to go right to sleep, once we got into our room at Ann's Motel.
We needed to rest up before visiting Grandma and Kelly.
The next morning, we walked over to the Wall Drug Store to get doughnuts for Grandma.
We decided to go the Backyard to let Jackson have some fun.
He was just such a good boy in the car, he needed sometime to play!
Here he is riding a HORSE! Go Jackson!
Look Mom, I'm an Indian!
He just can't get enough of those horses!
Whoo Hoo!
Mount Rushmore!
Kinda!
We offered him as a sacrifice to the T-Rex. Luckily, the T-Rex said Jackson did not have enough meat on his bones! Phew!
Riding the Jackalope with Daddy.
Gotta love the Backyard at Wall Drug.
We then went to Quinn to see Grandma and Uncle Kelly.
It is always so nice to see them.
They loved meeting Jackson.
Chillin' with Great Grandma Jones.
Taking a nap with Daddy.
Uncle Kelly made some wonderful hamburgers for everyone on the grill.
It was nice to chill outside for a bit!
We were only able to stay for a day...but it was such a nice day and visit.
We loved being there. Wish we could have stayed longer.
But, at least we were able to come and see them for a short amount of time.
Jackson sure does love his Great Grandma Jones.
Why wouldn' he, she is one awesome Grandma!
Love you Grandma!
See you again soon!
