Celebrate America

Last year Morgan had blogged about CELEBRATE AMERICA in Driggs, Idaho!
It seemed like such an awesome event! I really had the desire to go.
When I realized we would still be in Idaho...I was all about us going to this event.
I would NOT miss it!

So glad we went!
It was such an AWESOME day!

We met up with the Schauerhamers at 11 and headed out to Driggs.
Our cars were packed with food, water and fun!
Andrew was in heaven when he was able to look at all of the CLASSIC CARS that came.
Jackson was all about drinking a TON of water...which was good, because it was REALLY hot.

One of the events was an AIRSHOW.
It was pretty cool to some of the tricks that those planes did.

It sure was a good thing we brought our umbrellas.
We really needed the shade!
I love how Lily made her some shade!!!!!
And how nice it is that she is sharing the shade with Jackson!

Jackson must have been really thirsty.
He was trying to drink out of our spray bottle we brought to mist ourselves.
Another show that was put on was a magician!
He was pretty good.
Very entertaining.
The whole event is put on by the John Huntsman family.
Everything is free except for the food of course.
They are the founders of the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
They had a blow up COLON that you could walk through.
I suppose with my diverticulitus, I was a bit interested in the blow up COLON!
We also saw a BMX show.
Pretty cool!
Here is another Classic Car that Andrew drooled over!
Here is where we set up for the firework show.
All of the events were in another part of the park.
At about 6 we headed back to this area to see some more shows.
We saw a Wild West Cowboy show, a Cover Band and the Huntsman spoke.

Zack had this app on his phone where it showed part of a logo and you had to guess what logo it was. It kept us QUITE busy while we were waiting for the fireworks and chillin' listening to the band.
 Love this shot!
 And this one too!
Jackson just chillin'
Man he had such a great time!
And boy was he SUCH a good kid all day!!!!!
I guess Andrew was a bit tired.
I brought all of my red, white, and blue hats so at one point we took some fun family photos wearing all of my hats.  I don't have the Schauerhamers pic, but the Erickson's sure are sportin' them quite well!
 Gotta love CRAZY HATS!

After a very fun day in the sun...the best was yet to come once the sun set.
I have never ever seen a better firework show.
They combined the show with music and video.
It just made me VERY proud to be an AMerican.
I am not even sure HOW to explain what I felt during that firework show.
It was just amazing to be sitting there as a family enjoying such an awe inspiring show.

I now want to definitely come back to Idaho as many times as possible for the 4th of July celebrations.

Random Happenings

 Are you serious?
We hadn't even GONE to church yet!
(I love the milk dripping out of the sides of his mouth!)
Jackson has LOVED having all the cupboards empty.
He likes to crawl inside of them and PLAY PLAY PLAY!
We have waited SOOO long for our Poppys to POP!
They finally have and we love looking at them everyday!
I came into the room and this is how I found Jackson.
I guess he was tired.
June 28th was Morgan's birthday..
(Along with my brother's birthday...Happy Birthday David)
During the day we took Morgan to eat at the Mexican Restaurant in town. It is her favorite.
Britney, Morgan, and I had a great time just talking it up!
After we ate, Morgan and I went to the pool and had a great time playing in the pool with our kids.
Then we quickly went home and got ready to go to 511 Main for dinner.
After that we went back to the Baum farm and had cake and ice cream.
Andrew was camping, so I was really thankful Jackson and I could join in on the festivities.
That and I loved being with my BFF...MORGAN...for her big GOLDEN BIRTHDAY!
Jackson was pretty worn out when we got home.
This is how I found him sleeping in the crib.
 Silly goose!
Andrew came home the next day from his campout and we hung out.
Jackson was glad to have his Dad home...
He got to eat some Kool Pops!

Jackson's One Year Birthday Bash

 (Update from June 23rd)
We had Jackson's birthday party on my birthday.
That morning we went to a Business Fair down on Main Street.
They were serving FREE breakfast!
So of course we HAD to go!
I am all about anything that is FREE!
They had a fishing thing for the little kids.
Jackson got to participate.
This one booth was selling ALL different flavors of cotton candy.
I got Pina Colada.
Dad Walker got cherry...I think.

One thing we didn't understand..
It was a Business Fair and she had an awesome looking booth...
But she didn't have ANY information about her business ANYWHERE.
When we asked her what her about her business...
she said, "I guess it would've been good for me to have my business card here."
Ya think?
Oh well, her loss!
We went home and started setting up for Jackson's big BASH!
He loves to play with any kind of ball.
So we made that the theme of his party.
I made this fun garland of pictures of him throughout this year.
It is amazing how he has grown so fast.
We had cake and SNOW CONES!
Here is his cake.
I am pretty proud of it.
The top part is an oversized cupcake, that we could just take off and give to him.

The guests starting coming and the party began!
Jackson was all about going around to EVERYONE and getting some of their snow cone.
I don't even know HOW many snow cones he ate that day.

Look...there he is asking for MORE snow cone.

At one point I looked over and Jackson had already started opening his gifts.
I guess it was time to open the rest of them.
He got a golf set from the Idaho Uminski's.

Some toothbrushes and puzzles from the Chapman's.
He was really excited about the toothbrush.
Everytime he sees me brush my teeth, he puts his finger in his mouth and starts to move it around like a tooth brush.  He loves toothbrushes...
He got some AWESOME books from Nana and PopPop!
And...a ton of balls from Mom and Dad.

This ball came from Gramma and Dja-Dja.
He was so excited about all of his gifts.

Now it is CAKE time!
We sang Happy Birthday to him and he danced during it.
Then he dug into his cake.
I think he likes it!

Andrew made me a cupcake as well.
So we all sang happy birthday to me, too!
I guess Jackson didn't think he had enough of his cake...he needed mine too!

Uh oh...somebody is getting sleeping...
Yep that's right...JACKSON FELL ASLEEP IN HIS CAKE!
Classic!

Carter wasn't liking that his friend was sleeping.
He wanted to play!!!
So happy that the Chapman's came.
It was soo good to see them.
Along with everyone else that came to celebrate with Jackson.
Right at the end of his party we heard about this guy at the gas station.
He was traveling around the West in this SOLAR powered wagon.
Random?  Yes!!
We came back and the Erickson's came and it was like we had a second party for Jackson. They gave him some fun puzzles.  So many fun presents.  I love the above picture...Jackson is over there eating the that was dumped out of the snow cone machine.  Crazy kid!
It was such a GREAT day.
I loved sharing my birthday with my son.
It was awesome to see all of our friends and so glad that Nana and PopPop were able to come up from Utah to celebrate as well.
After all the festivities, we went down to Rexburg to eat at Winger's for my birthday meal.
Jackson was diggin' the popcorn.
What a great day.

Seriously, I wouldn't have wanted to celebrate my birthday any other way!
