Easter Fun

Our Easter activities spanned throughout a couple of days.
It first started on Wednesday (the 4th).
We were watching the Schauerhamer girls, so we took advantage of having extra hands to help us dye eggs.  Plus it is always funner when you have kids around to do an activity like this.
They did  great job.
Jackson just wanted to DRINK the dye.
Next year he will be old enough to help us!
This is the making of JACKSON's egg.
It had his name on it and unfortunately I didn't get a picture with him and his egg!
Oh well!  Next year.
After we were all done dying eggs the girls started to wrestle in the TV room.
We told Jackson to go and tackle them...and he did just that!
Such an obedient little boy!
The next day we had an Easter get together at Morgan's house.
I made the dessert.
These fun Bird nests.
They are made out of pretzels and melted chocolate chips.
I also threw in a little bit of coconut.
They turned out so great.
And WAY yummy!
We had a great time at the Easter get together.
The Britney was there with Hailee and Carter.
Rachel was there with Lincoln and Isabel.
Marlese was there with Connor and Brayden.
Morgan was there with Leah and Lily.
AND we were (of course) were there with our little Jackson.

At first we dyed eggs.
Since Jackson is too young to dye eggs, Andrew, Jackson and I went outside to hide all the eggs.
Once we put the eggs down...Jackson made sure to go and get them.
He was really good finding them.
He would grab the egg and then sit there and shake them.
He loved hearing the candy inside.
He quickly found out how to OPEN the eggs and EAT the candy inside.
And of course, with the candy came big handfuls of grass.
Extra flavor.
Once he couldn't see anymore of the candy he would move onto the next egg.
Here is a group shot of all the kids who were part of the fun.
It was great to see the kids run around and search for the eggs.
Andrew and I tried really hard to hide some of the eggs, really EASY and then made some a little harder for the bigger kids.
It was mad chaos.  SO MUCH FUN!
After the hunt was over the kids went around and played on the trampoline.
Jackson took advantage of the abandoned baskets and searched through them.

Then we went inside and had an amazing lunch.
Morgan made some tacos and we made sure to eat them ALL up!
We then had a great time playing DRAW SOMETHING on Marlese's iPad and had some great conversation while all the kids played.
At one point, I looked over and Jackson was having a GREAT time eating MORE robin eggs.
Just look at all of the blue dye all over his face.
 This boy is FILTHY!
But, man did he have a great time getting THIS dirty!
I just love this picture of Connor and Jackson playing in a little girl's room.
They are just having the TIME of their lives.

It was a really fun day and it was so fun to get together with all of our friends.
Thanks Morgan for letting us come over. It was a GREAT time!
 The Easter festivities CONTINUE!
On Saturday we went down to the Elementary school for the Community's Easter Egg Hunt.
Jackson got to meet the Easter Bunny.
He wasn't afraid at all.
He just really wanted to get his hands on the basket of SMARTIES!

SIDE NOTE:  Do you notice ALL of the SNOW?
We were really upset it came.
The whole week up to this point it was absolutely beautiful outside.
We woke up Friday morning, the day of Andrew's graduation to a TON of SNOW!
NO FUN!
Which meant, Saturday for the Easter Egg Hunt the ground was covered in snow.
But, here in Ashton we were not going to let that stop the fun!
Jackson isn't quite old enough to participate in the actual hunt.
SOOOO, I made sure to get him an egg.
He loved his little egg.
We then put it on the ground and let him pick it up!
He loved going out and getting his egg.
Jackson even got to get a TOY and some goodies.
What a great time we had.
We are really going to miss living in this great community.
Later that day we went to the movies with Andrew's family and Jackson got to meet ANOTHER Easter Bunny.

Don't worry the Easter festivities did not stop there.
Next up...Easter Sunday!

Andrew has GRADUATED!!!!

Tuesday, April 3rd Andrew finished ALL of his college classes and assignments.
He officially ended his college career.
When he came home I had our "YOU ROCK" plate out.
(Mom Walker made it for us at Color Me Mine last summer.)
This plate will be used forever!  It is for any of those occasions in our lives when someone does something good.)
This is the first time we have been able to use it.
So FUN!

He also came home to a SURPRISE present.
I was really proud of the present I gave him.
I started a quilt about two weeks before Jackson was born, BACK IN JUNE!
I was making it for Andrew...
Once Jackson came the quilt took a back burner.
I worked on it randomly here and there...
About a month before Andrew was going to be done with school I decided I was going to FINISH the quilt.  SOOOO..I worked on it on Tuesdays and Thursdays when he was in school.  I finished it Tuesday morning before he came home.
Go HERE to see the QUILT!!!!
I made Andrew some muffins for his lunch.
I know that doesn't seem like much, but he loved it!
Friday, April 6th Andrew graduated.
Andrew's mom, dad, and sister came up for the ceremony.
They got in at noon...welcomed with  snowstorm.
We went and ate out at Gingerbread Run Cafe (a restaurant in Ashton that our friend owns.)
Then at about 3:30 we headed down to Rexburg for all the fun!
While trying to find our seats,  we somehow ended up in the basement of the Conference Center.  We were lost!!!
 We ran into CHAPMAN!!!!!!

Family photo!
Andrew had to meet in the massive gym with all the other graduates.
This is one of Andrew's really good friends..John!
YAY!!!  Andrew you are graduating!!!!
We had to wait for about an hour.
Good thing Mom brought her iPad...ok honestly...WE...ok...I brought Mom's iPad.
Kate and I took turns playing games to pass the time.
 Jackson was quite BUSY!
He was suppose to sleep during the whole thing.
But, he just couldn't miss out on his daddy's big day!!!
The Keynote speaker was Elder Ballard.
He gave such an amazing talk.
It was very positive
He told the graduates to replace fear with faith.
To be positive.
The economy will get better.
It was exactly what I needed to hear.
If you would like to read it, you can go HERE.

After the Commencement Ceremony we went to the Hart Auditorium to watch Andrew WALK!!!!!!
He got to sit by his friends.
Brian and John.

Jackson finally gave in and went to sleep!
AND here we are EVERYONE...
ANDREW HAS HIS DIPLOMA!
He has graduated from college.
He is the first one in his immediate family to receive a college degree.
We are all so proud of him.
Andrew was such an amazing student.
I really hope our kids get HIS study skills and NOT mine.
Every semester he put forth 110% towards his studies.
And I know he will do the same in whatever job he gets.
 FAMILY PHOTO!
We couldn't leave Rexburg that night without taking a pic by the sign.  Right behind this sign is the building that Andrew spent the majority of his time...the SMITH building.
We took another picture together on Sunday when we were all dressed nice and the weather was beautiful outside.  Sure do love my two guys.
I am soooo glad that I have them in my life.

Congrats Andrew!
You are one heck of a husband!
And an amazing COLLEGE Graduate!!!

Being OUTSIDE!!!!!!

Spring has arrived in Ashton!
It has been BEAUTIFUL outside.
All the SNOW is gone AND it has been in the 60s.
Somedays it is a bit breezier than others, but man...it has been so much fun to be OUTSIDE and have the DOOR open.
Jackson absolutely LOVES going outside.

(March 23)
Andrew likes to take Jackson outside and take a walk around the house.
It is so great that we can now.
It is amazing that there is no snow on the ground.
Today we brought out our grill from the garage and made some amazing hamburgers and I made some awesome onion rings to go with them.
Jackson was also able to go out on the back porch for the VERY first time.
Look how much he loves it.
He loved getting the twigs and putting them in his mouth.
We have such little BOY!
We also went for a walk to the Post Office.
Jackson LOVED being out for a walk.
We would stop the stroller and he would sway his body back and forth telling us it was time for us to GO.  He wanted that stroller to MOVE!
I am just sooo happy we are able to go outside and get some fresh air.
 (March 26)
A couple days later it was a little cold outside.
This is spring in Ashton afterall.
We have a beautiful day and then snow the next.
I had packed a few boxes and put them on the ground.
Next thing I knew, Jackson had climbed up on top of them to see out the window.

He is so proud of himself.
He was just really longing to go OUTSIDE!

 (April 4th)
On April 4th, we went outside and did some much needed yard work.
There was a huge wind storm the other night and it knocked down a ton of our branches...including the one that Andrew is holding.
It was pretty strong wind.
We spent the afternoon raking up branches and leaves.
Now our grass can start to grow.
Jackson hung out on the back porch.
Gosh, he just LOVES being outside.
Our next door neighbors have a dog that was barking at Jackson.
He loves to stand there and watch the dog.
He just had a blast outside.
After we were done working on the yard we moved to the garage and he loved being in there getting into all of the stuff there is to get into in the garage.
Later that day we went to the park.
We tried to fly my octopus kite, but it wasn't quite windy enough.
We put him in the swing.
He wasn't quite sure about it.
I guess he is still a bit too young for swings.
We didn't keep him in there for very long.
He did however LOVE to play on the playground equipment.
He even got to go down the slide a couple of times.
He also loved being on the Merry-Go-Round.
Man, our son just LOVES being outside.
And to be honest...SO DO I!

Hope this weather sticks around for a LONG time.
