 It is Dog Derby time!
Friday during the day, my class went up to watch the Dog Derby.
It was fun to see all of the dogs.
The Siberian Huskies are my favorite.
Later that night Andrew's parents came up for the weekend!
Saturday we drove around and found some teams out on the actual trail.
That was really fun to see!
We also went by the church parking lot to show off the snow sculptures to Andrew's parents.  (Now you must realize we saw these on Saturday and we did them on Tuesday at mutual and WEDNESDAY there was a HUGE wind storm that came through!  So, this is what is left of them!
Top left...golden plates done by the Young Women...top right...a hand cart (looked so much better before it fell.) done by the Teachers... Bottom left....Nauvoo Temple done by the Priests...Bottom Right....I have no clue..the 12 year old Deacons were in charge of that one!
The Nauvoo Temple actually won 2nd place in the Dog Derby Snow Sculpture Contest!  Whoo Hoo!

This weekend we got SNOW!  A ton of SNOW!  It started snowing Saturday afternoon and did not stop until Monday morning.  Insane!  As you can see we have a some snow in our front yard.  Most of it was there already, but if you look down at our feet you can see what had accumulated during the weekend.  But, honestly...we almost have a snow cave to our front door!
Here are some more pics of how much snow fell this weekend.  Andrew's dad kept saying how much he loved the snow, so we had him shovel the walk!  All of the snow on the car had fallen this weekend.  Can you tell how high the snow is on the road?  It was about a foot-foot and a half..in just one weekend!
We were just about to start shoveling the driveway when Shawn Lenz came down the street in his tractor.  He offered to clear out our driveway for us!  AWESOME!  We were so thankful for him.
Ok...there is this mound in the front of our house.  you can't even see our house! This is definitely the MOST snow we have ever seen in our lives!  Is there really a yard under all this snow?
These pics are taken on our back porch.  Talk about a ton of snow!  I am not even standing on the bottom of all the snow.

Maybe one of these days it will all melt away!
It was a great weekend with Andrew's parents.
We played many games and even got to eat at the Frostop!
Love that restaurant!
It has been a nice relaxing weekend.
Thanks for coming Mom and Dad Walker!

Looked out the Window

The other day I looked out the window and what did I see??
A MONKEY CLIMBING THE TREE!
Do you see it?
He was just chillin' there in the middle of the winter.
In Ashton, ID!
Here's a close up of my monkey friend!
Hope you had a great climb!

Valentine's Day Boxes

For Valentine's Day I always send home the assignment for my students to create their boxes at home.  I don't give them any boundaries at all.  I just tell them to be as CREATIVE as possible.  This year, there were some pretty creative boxes.  Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure!
Which one is your favorite?

Can you tell how tall this one is????  It is about five feet tall.  You put the cards in the neck and then you get the cards out from the back side.  Who are my students...honestly?!?!?

It was a great Valentine's Day!
The party even had a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!

ASHTON STAKE VALENTINE'S NIGHT UNDER THE STARS DANCE

As many of you know we are the Ashton Stake Activities directors. So this meant we had to help plan the Valentine's Dance. Our friends the Dye's focused on the food half and we tackled the decorations. We did a little planning and thanks to the Ashton 3rd Ward young woman and the Schauerhammer's we got the place decorated in a few hours the night before. Here are some pictures to show you what we did with our $250 budget. Enjoy. (PS. It was a hit of a party and plenty of fun was had by all.)

Andrew's Internship

For those of you who have not heard..
ANDREW got an INTERNSHIP!
This has been the thing hanging over our heads lately.
Where is Andrew going to get his Internship?
He really wanted one at WalMart Corporate Offices.
Guess what...HE GOT IT!!!!
He went out to Bentonville, AR January 19-22.
He had THREE interviews! HOT!
He was offered two positions and took the one that he REALLY wanted in the Merchandising Department.  I am so proud!
Which means...we are going to Bentonville, AR this summer.
We will leave May 19th.
Should be a ton of fun!
Here are some pictures of Bentonville!

It is opening November 11, 2011.  I really hope Andrew gets a permanent job at WalMart after the Internship, so we can actually go inside of this place some day!
And...are you ready for this....
This is the HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL stadium!!
Brings me back to my roots in TEXAS FOOTBALL!
I am TOTALLY OK with going to these games someday!

So, yes, we are excited to experience Bentonville, AR.
We will miss all of our Idaho friends.
We will be sad to miss out on an Ashton Summer.
The 4th of July festivities and the warm BBQ weather.
However, we will be back for Andrew to finish up his Senior Year,
so we will hopefully get to fit in a few BBQs before the snow comes back!
Congrats Andrew!  I am way proud of you!
