Camping with the Schauerhamers

 Thursday, August 5th we went camping with the Schauerhamers.  It was a great time!  It was our first and only time going camping this summer.  We talked about it all summer and FINALLY we were able to go.  The first thing we did when we got there was start a fire and got our foil dinners a cookn'!  YUM YUM!  My Andrew was the FIRE guy!  He started every fire in a matter of minutes.  Go Andrew!

 Then we set up our tent.  We just bought this tent, so this was the first time it was used.  It worked out pretty nicely, until it started raining that night and we discovered it was not waterproof.  We ended up moving it under a tree...which we know is not the right place to put a tent, but it was much better than getting DRENCHED!!!

 Then we headed down to the creek that was about 30 feet from our campsite. Beautiful.  We enjoyed throwing rocks and listening to the water.

 Dinner time!  Oooppsss...the ranch got all over EVERYTHING!  Including Morgan's cheek!

 There is nothing better than eating FOIL DINNERS while you are out camping. 

That night was spent making S'mores and hitting the sack early due to RAIN!

 In the morning we woke up and had deep fried french toast!  So unhealthy, but so GOOD!

 Then the rest of the day was spent in the creek making a dam for a swimming hole.  It was an all day endeavor, but it turned out quite nice!  I wonder if it is still there?

 All of that rock moving made Lily really tired!

 It was time for lunch so we took a break from the dam building and came and ate sandwiches and played Monopoly Deal!  Fun fun game!

 Then after a short rain storm we headed back to the creek.  We just got a new WATERPROOF camera and we were able to test it out!  This was the first ever picture taken UNDER water!

 Here are four shots of the place we dammed up!  Before, During, During, After!  We built a dam and we were pretty proud of it!

 That night we ate some dutch oven chicken and had peach cobbler for dessert!  Oh my gosh!  I am pretty sure that is my most favorite thing to eat when camping..DUTCH OVEN PEACH COBBLER!!!

We stayed there one more night.  Friday night was spent just chillin' around the campfire.  Talking the night away!  Everything that camping is all about!  It was a great time going camping with our friends the Schauerhamers.  We can not wait for the next trip!  Thanks Morgan and Andrew for being great camping buddies. The food was excellent!!!

I am also so excited that I am slowly but surely getting you ALL caught up on our summer endeavors!  Just a few more posts and we will be good to go!!
