Christmas in SA - The Second Week

This week was just as exciting as the first. Monday we went out to Kyle, Texas to see the Hillman's new home. They are moving there in about a month. Tuesday was spent lounging around the house. We did work for a little bit. We took down Christmas at Mom and Dad's house! That is always a sad day. We also watched a movie on Mom's new TV and BLUE RAY Player. It was a relaxing day. Wednesday kicked off the adventure part of it all.

We went to a HOCKEY GAME!
Dad works for the San Antonio Express News. He was able to get some tickets and we went and watched a great game. He even let us wear some REAL jerseys! Jerseys that were actually worn during a GAME!!
It was ugly sweater night! Even though we didn't have ours on, we loved seeing everyone elses! Andrew got a little friendly with the LADY MASCOT for the team. No worries, Margie was able to get close to the MALE mascot. It was a fun game to watch.

After the game, we were able to go "BACKSTAGE" and get a closer look at the hockey players!
This is Andrew holding a broken hockey stick! It was the stick that broke causing the Rampage to miss the goal! Dang stick breaking!! He was sad he wasn't able to keep it!
Daddy-o doing his job! Interviewing one of the Hockey players. Margie took this picture "undercover" No one even knew she took it! She should be a member of the Paparazi!

Man....Feeling so close to the Spurs right now!
The next day was New Year's Eve! We headed up to Hutto, Texas, where the Hillman's are living as of right now. It was a night full of game playing and having fun! This is the game Bootleggers. It is a great game!
The girls TRYING to make it to midnight. They made it, but barely! They were so excited to stay up with the BIG KIDS!! (aka: the adults)
Really, is this all New Year's is about...
Enjoying a glass of Martinelli's!!!
We are bringing in the New Year with a smile!!
Welcome 2010!
Such a cutie!!! She loved staying up with the big kids!
Elizabeth with all of her kids that brought in the New Year with her. Last year she only had one kid that made it to midnight!
The cute little twins! Here are just a few pictures of the twins that we love! This would be the last time we saw them until July! Then they will be ONE YEAR OLDS!!!

On New Year's Day we were able to go around Austin and visit with people there. We ate lunch with Julie, went over to Michelle's, went and visited with Kami and Will, and then last stop...Dinner with the Hopkin family. We miss all of our dear friends in Austin. We wish we would've been able to see more people, but there were many that were still out of town for the holidays!
We thought we were not going to make it into the picture from when the timer was set up, so we thought we had to bend over. Turns out we didn't, but it made for a cute picture!
We just love the Hopkin family sooooo much! It was great to spend the evening with them. We had black-eyed peas and played some great games.
Saturday was the day that Margie had been waiting for, for almost an entire month....the ALAMO BOWL. Texas Tech was playing in it. Kati got us tickets...THANK YOU KATI! And we had a blast!!! Before going to the game, we hung out downtown and ate on the Riverwalk.
The Mariachi band was there entertaining the people!!! We listened in. We just love Texas and everything it has to offer!!!
Walking to the Alamo Bowl. We of course had to stop and take a picture! We thought we would wait until after the game...good thing we didn't! These signs were already down and something new put on the pillars by the time we were walking back to our car. They work fast down in San Antonio!
Whoa! Talk about a HUGE flag! Margie loves this part of the Alamo Bowl! They do it every year!
Right before they scored a TOUCHDOWN! This was such an amazing game. Margie cried at one point in the fourth quarter!! She just loved being there amongst 65,000 people.
RAIDER POWER!!!
Kati enjoying the game. Margie made sure she wore red and taught her how to get her "Guns Up!" and some of the cheers. She did a good job! Thanks again Kati for getting us these tickets and for such an amazing night!!! We love you!!!
Sisters!!!
We love our Red Raiders!
Ok, this baby blanket scared us! It has skulls on it! What happened to cute butterflies and things like that! At least it is pink!
Final Score!! Fight Raiders Fight! Fight Raiders Fight!! Wreck 'em Texas Tech!
The award ceremony after the game!
We stayed for it all!
There is the coach that took the place of Mike Leach!
A Red Raider!
As we walked back to the car we were able to walk amongst the Goin' Band from Raiderland! Margie felt so lucky!
We also stopped and took a picture next to the Lion King sign, seeing how we went to it a week ago, but our camera was dead at the time!
On Monday, we were able to go to Adams Hill, the school Margie worked at for three years. She loved it there and still thinks about her time there. She was able to visit with some great co-workers. There are not too many that are left, but it was good to see those that were!
Yea! Phyllis is a TEACHER now! When Margie was there she was the aid in the Library going to school for her degree. This is her first year teaching. So excited for her!
Look! There's Margie and her class!!!!!

We thought this was CLASSIC! 2022!!! Wow!
That is CRAZY!

Margie taking pictures of herself!
Ah....before we left for the airport we ate the top of our wedding cake! It has been a year and a half, but we still had a go! We were actually surprised it was still there. We had left it in Margie's sister's freezer. She saved it for us! It really did not taste very good! Where did that tradition even come from????

Flying over Salt Lake!
We end where we started from...the Salt Lake Airport! Thought this was a great sign!!
CHECK YOU BAG TAGS!!!!!

What a great Christmas Break! It is hard to believe how fast two weeks can just ZOOM BY!! We are so blessed with amazing family and wonderful friends! We already really miss everyone back home in Texas and can't wait to get back! But, we are really loving our time in Idaho and will continue to live it up here in Ashton!!
